…is another woman’s treasure:
More sweet threads. These are some of my favorite shades, and two of them are silk. They were Not To Be Resisted.
Rather ugly brass pot for mordanting dye goods. Ebay: $24. Urban Ore: $2.
Awesomely mangy and rusted steel pan for trying rust dyeing.
4$ + tax for the lot.
A small haul, but Urban Ore apparently saves the crafty stuff for the East Bay Depot for Creative Reuse. Their furniture department, however, was out of hand. I was so mesmerized I forgot to take my camera out of my purse. Pea yoo.
I dream of being able to buy a house, and furnish and embellish it primarily from Urban Ore.
Urban Ore sells: Cabinets, hardware, lighting, sporting goods, furniture, arts and media, books, unique clothing, household goods, doors, trim wood, windows, tile, stone, metals, lumber, garden supplies and plants, bathtubs, toilets, sinks, shower doors, and glass. The full list, here, boggles the mind.
On an average day, Urban Ore prevents nearly 20 tons of waste from entering local landfills.
Do you have a salvage yard near you? Do you visit it? They’re lots of fun!
