Deep purple round berries on vibrant fuschia stems.
large yard tree with purplish leavesIn Chico last November, I perused Wendy’s yard to see if I might by chance recognize any dye plants.

Low and behold, I found American poke berries and a purple smoke tree, or cotinus.

Everywhere I go now, it’s funny how I eventually notice the joint is just lousy with dye plants. The more plants I learn, the more I want to identify ones I don’t know.

Drool.

  1. Let me know if there are specific dye plants you want and I’ll work on getting them into my new garden plans!

  2. I love it as you give me natural color ideas for my soaps, candles and other products.
